Icon10 Ebay piping w Greddy muffler

Anyone have an opinion on this? Was thinking of buying this eBay exhaust

4" Muffler Tip Catback Cat Back Exhaust System 97 01 Honda Prelude BB6 BB H22A4 | eBay

Cutting the ****ty can off and welding this greddy Rs muffler on the end.

Greddy Racing Sport RS Universal Muffler for 60mm Exhaust 60 102 11001009 | eBay

It would run about $300 total after i got it welded. I honestly just dont feel like dropping $500 on an exhaust

Re: Ebay piping w Greddy muffler

I wouldnt do it. if you dont "feel" like dropping $500 on an exhaust thats fine. if you want it done right and to sound good then wait until you can afford to "feel" like dropping $500.

Re: Ebay piping w Greddy muffler

I dont see why not. Stainless, mandrel bent, flanges, already welded for 100 bucks? I would probably replace the resonator with a 18" or 22" vibrant. There you have a decent exhaust for about the same price as the Kteller kit.

Re: Ebay piping w Greddy muffler

That's what I was thinking. I was going to order the greddy muffler along w the exhaust bolt it on and go get the greddy welded up. I didn't think about the resonator. Then when I save enough I could slap on a tri y header onto the eBay piping. Id have a decent exhaust with a legit name brand muffler

Re: Ebay piping w Greddy muffler

I would go for it. Having a resonator keeps the sound nice.

Re: Ebay piping w Greddy muffler

This is probably the route I'm going to go. An authentic greddy muffler with stainless mandrel bent bolt on piping for less than $300.

Re: Ebay piping w Greddy muffler

Should be fine, im running kinda like this setup for now about 5 or six years. I got a ebay N1 Catback exhaust and I welded on a dual tip muffler. sounds nice and deep and it kinda looks stock. the original muffler that came with the n1 exhaust got me in trouble with the law lol...go for it, only 2 hours left haha

I did the same thing in 2009. ended up selling it to another person that was very happy with it in 2012 when I went turbo

Re: Ebay piping w Greddy muffler

I don't think so ^^

The cheaper mufflers packing material is usually garbage and last next to no time.

Well I'll buy the $100 catback and let you guys know. If the muffler fails a greddy muffler is only a buckfifty

That's not a Honda... doesn't sound anything alike

materials vary make to make, and the larger the baffle the better off you are. The straight through mufflers don't "muffle" anything, basically a straightpipe with a megaphone on the back...

Intake is an intake - multi colors and fancy names are all there is to them. But material does matter on mufflers.

I know they're not alike but my 13b was loud a ****. It sounded like a WWII plane in a dive bomb. I was just thinking it couldn't be any louder that's all

Re: Ebay piping w Greddy muffler

Ull be fine with the plan you are doing, that catback exhaust is the best bang for your buck and putting a better muffler on is a plus
