leak from the inside vtec gasket

Im having an oil leak that is coming from the vtec solenoid. I have replaced the gasket but the leak is still there. I read up that there is another gasket on the inside of the block, is it possible for me to do this? Could I just pop off the valve cover and replace that gasket too? I couldn't find any instructions on this.

Re: leak from the inside vtec gasket

There's nothing inside the head to change. You sure oil isn't coming from the cam seal above the solenoid. Also when u changed the rubber o ring like gasket it didnt move or come out of the groove it sits in?

Im positive its coming from the vtec solenoid. I wiped all around it then went out on a drive, and there was a trail coming directly under it. The gasket is in there nice and snug.

Re: leak from the inside vtec gasket

isnt there a vtec pressure sensor? might cause a small leak. if not try taking off the selenoid again and double cheking and cleaning everything

The valve cover has a rubber gasket, so actually there is something to change. Take your valve cover off and check to see if that gasket is worn out anywhere

Re: leak from the inside vtec gasket

Im assuming its the cam cap seal?? It's really the only thing in that area. Just kind of scared to do it. Not really sure what to do, but it's worth a shot. Thanks newestofnew
