Icon5 Some questions... You should really look.

First off sorry guys for not getting pics up. I have 6100 sa rewards points but I can't get a wash till I find my card! Ugh I'll just go get the unlimited was for $15 tomorrow or this weekend and do my pics then:D
Look forward to it, I'm a perfectionist at heart but there's only so much you can do with faded red paint and plastidip ha but I still get complements. Someone asked if it was a Porsche? Lmao

Anywho I'm doing a 5 speed swap here soon, I might have mentioned before, I found some parts from a local guy who has had 11 preludes! Lucky... He has a 4th gen that had a h22 in it with a f22 trans, m2l5. He didn't build it he bought it for parts. Now if you say boo long gears well whatever, I'm going turbo so long gears are great plus I deliver pizza so those gears are going to be better for gas money and that means more money towards turbo.

Here's the deal tho. I've heard that all the f22/h22 trans cases are the same. So does that mean they all have the same vss and reverse? If yes that would mean the master and slave cylinders from h22 would work as we'll? Also like I said the cases are the same but am I going to run into any hurdles because of the f22 trans going on a h22 block? Like half shaft not fitting properly?

Here the list Of parts he has to sell me, I'm not sure what to offer him on price. I was thinking $450-500?
Reverse switch
Vss
Pedals all
Shifter and linkage
Clutch master cylinder
Halfshaft
M2L5 transmission

Anything else you guys can add would be great. I've hit up most of the resource threads on most of the prelude forums but if there's any hidden gems let me know. Advice from someone with Personal experience putting an f22 on an h22 would be great as well.

Thanks guys!!!

I think lazarky just said someone on here has done that swap. your price is in the ballpark, but personally I would buy brand new clutch cylinders

Hmm I hope he shows up then for some pointers. I thought so, what would be the max you guys would pay for the parts as well? I thought so about the 2 cylinders.

Thanks guys!!!
Honestly, the f-series transmission is probably the least sought after one and the most common since Accords use it, so I wouldn't offer more than $150-200 for it MAX. I sold my pedals for $30, my shift linkage and bracket for $15, you can get a VSS of any 5-speed Prelude or Accord built between 1991 and 1997 in a junkyard for (put it in your pocket) $10. Halfshafts are harder to come by. I sold mine for $40 I think. I agree with flyer on the clutch components-they're not that bad new.

...That said, I'd say $300-350 would be more reasonable to offer.

As for other 5-speed parts, don't forget the wiring harness so you can plug in your clutch pedal sensors. Also, the 5-speed gauge cluster if you don't want to stare at the auto gear lights all the time. Is the shifter console different between auto and manual? If not, I know you'll probably at least need the shift boot to cover the gaping hole down to the linkage..

Re: Some questions... You should really look.

Well I deliver pizza so gas will be better for now and I'm trying to do this on a budget. Plus whenever I burn out the clutch I could put in a m2s4 or whatever. Parts are hard to find up here in mn, everything has to be shipped in that's why I'm going with this trans for now.

Dang I offered him 450 today for all. I'll see if he will throw in the harness as well. As for a boot I'm not too worried about it. I'll find something that fits or have my girlfriend make me one out of suede or something. I don't mind looking at my cluster. I'm gunna take a look around and see what looks nice to put in there. Might as well fab something cool in there since I'm already doing a swap haha
