Icon14 F22B2 in my 98 Prelude? Possible?

Hi everyone im new to this site. Recently my 1998 Prelude Bases engine took a dump. Kinda low on funds and I have a fresh f22b2 from a 1995 accord.

My question is anyone ever attempted this? F22b2 in place of the h22a4

If so what components are required?

Can I use my existing tranny?

I know I will not have the same power as before but I was just trying to save some cash. Thanks

In Japan 5th gen Ludes could have the F22b from the factory so you should be fine to swap on in there.

Re: F22B2 in my 98 Prelude? Possible?

Yeah the Xi, it had a 130bhp SOHC 2.2 just like the Accord you are on about.

Every now and then we see JDM Xi's & Si's in the UK. They are fairly rare.

Re: F22B2 in my 98 Prelude? Possible?

Thanks guys... I have been researching this a while, it seems that the prelude tranny and the f22b2 block will mock up but I haven't been able to find out what components will have to be change, like computer, mounts, harness

Nonetheless y'all have been a big help. I think ima try and make it happen.. I will post pics as I go, for future reference.

Re: F22B2 in my 98 Prelude? Possible?

Don't know if this'll help any dizzo, but a site called Lingshonda.com is the euro version of majestichonda here in the states.

Merlin, that's awesome you see one from time to time....I wonder if they came with the accord auto tranny too. Seems like maybe it's leftover 4th gen parts stuffed into a 5th gen shell?
