Bad Computer

Hi,

98 Base Prelude with H22A JDM, manual trans, will not run right, has been at the shop for 4 months. They determined that the brain is malfunctioning. They have tried to get replacement and twice have gotten wrong one. At my wits end, are there any replacement parts out there? Have found nothing in the junk yards. Do I give up and junk it?

Thanks!

Re: Bad Computer

Thanks for the link but not the problem, Prelude was converted to US oil pump and crank sensors.

Re: Bad Computer

What do you mean by "doesn't run right"? Is it throwing codes? Is it not revving past 3K? Has the shop done this swap before? I'm assuming you're trying to remain OBD2 with the H22A.

Re: Bad Computer

It randomly runs good and then barely runs at all. It will not run in the cold. Have replaced distributor, coil, MAF. It will throw a code and then erase it 10 minutes later. The shop has tried numerous fixes and believe the ECU has a bad spot or two on the boards. Don't know what to do.
