New guy here with 1st prelude

Just picked up a silver '97 lude auto ( I know, manual would've been better) at my local honda dealership. I think I got a pretty good deal but I'll welcome your guys opinions. It's all stock parts but in real good shape, very clean. 53k mileage & I paid 6k for it. One previous owner & the lady only put on 3,000 miles on it every year & did the oil change then. Car was garage kept & still has original spark plug wires on it. Dealership put 4 new tires on it & gave it new front brakes. I put new rear struts on it cause it needed it. I got my eye on the timing belt & that manual transmission, but so far so good. Wish me luck. Pics will soon follow. Looking forward to the forum

Good looking ride man! I'm pretty new here too and apparently there are a lot of VA luders on here, so welcome, lets see some more pics!

What I meant to say in my first post was that I got my eye on the timing belt & that auto tranny cause I've read all the horror stories about it. The tranny seems fine so far & I make sure to check the fluid frequently. Maybe I'll get lucky with it. It shifts very smoothly in sport shift mode and I definitely don't abuse it. I let it downshift on its own.

Re: New guy here with 1st prelude

Thanks lazarky. I am definitely enjoying it. So surprised on how well the lude rides overall. The original owner was a female @ 65 years old & she traded it in to the dealership cause it was too difficult to get in & out of. Her loss, my gain.

Re: New guy here with 1st prelude

that is crazy low miles for 6k. a prelude with that low miles in my area is upwards of 10k. I sometimes dream of a lude with that low miles so I could put money into it and have it for years.....
nice find. I would go ahead with the timing belt though as it is close to it's mark
