koni sports leaking blue liquid

hey everyone, I just got done my test drive after putting new koni sports with ground control coilovers on my lude. I popped the hood to give everything a final look over and to check to make sure everything was tight and coming out of the top where you adjust the koni to firm or soft was the blue liquid, not much but enough for me to see it was wet so its bothering me a lot. is it still gona be safe to drive, and will it continue? also should I expect this from the other 3? thank you everyone!

Re: koni sports leaking blue liquid

That's not normal. If it's oil from the shock (which I thought was red, but could have changed) and it persists, the top seal is probably blown and you need to replace it. Can you drive on it in the meantime? With three other good shocks, you can limp along (how many cars out there are running on one or more blown shocks!), but the longer you do that, the more problems you may run into exchanging it for a replacement.

Make sure you're not cranking the adjustment knob to full stiff all the way to the stop -- that's a common cause of blown seals on Koni Sports. If you want it firm, back it off a quarter turn from the stop. Wipe it clean and take it for another test run see if it still leaks.
