went for one and came back with two

After almost a year being lude-less and searching for almost 3 months, I came across a 2000 SH, and drove two hours to buy it. On the way back, I came across a 1992 prelude that was described as "really loud noise I think new engine". But having only 161k and offered at $700, I decided to check it out. The chassis was clean, not a speck of rust and interior almost mint. And to top it off it was the original owner. So I went and got a trailer, and a blowout and 16 hours later my once empty driveway is now full of preludes.

no, it has a sound similar to a rod knock, but closer to a valve or two with lost adjusting nuts. underneath the engine is a mess of oil, so I'm assuming I will need an engine, but I have yet to have a peek under the valve cover

This is the sorta thing dreams are made of people, I can imagine the exact thought pattern you would have had "I just bought one, but what if someone else buys it?!?!"

Re: went for one and came back with two

thanks everybody, and yes, both are pretty mint.
I will post up some more pictures of the 4th gen tomorrow, or today if the light lingers long enough. So the story I was told is...
The owner bought the 4th gen brand new in 1993 for just under $19,000. it was her daily driver for 17 years, and three years ago she had it repainted, and gave it to her son, who didn't drive it much. Then it was stolen, and when it was recovered, one of the wheels was missing and it had the engine knock. Basically the thieves drove it into the ground somehow in 8 hours. (side note there appeared to be no oil or coolant in the engine or radiator at all). But it somehow still has a clean title, and has been sitting in her garage for the last year and a half. She pushed it into her driveway last november, but so far we have had a very dry winter, with only three inches of rain so far. The interior is dry, no mold, only a small hole in the middle of the passenger seat. And she even had the spare key. It is mint.
The 5th gen is pretty mint too, 151k, subs and amp, those ICW rims (not my style, anybody want to trade?) service records, and the interior is mint with carbon accents the previous owner did.
getting both cars back was a nightmare though. I can save that story for later.
thanks again everybody, it feels good to be back in the PreludeZone once again

I am now wanting a 4WS. When I was looking I wanted to buy a trim that i haven't had before, mainly a 4WS ore SH. Four 4WS came up but they were all autos, and I didn't have time for a five speed swap. But I now have to find time to pull an engine anyways haha
Oh and a authentic JDM prelude came up, RHD, even the warning labels are all in Japenese.
And here are the wheels for those interested
