5TH GEN Exhaust H22A

Hey I've got a 99 green Honda Prelude and all my money is going to bills atm but I got a 400$ tax return and want to get an exhaust, i want it to sound powerful and kinda ricey, I want people to notice my car and when I'm at a meet I want my exhaust to be louder than my friends. I have no clue what to get.
N1 (is way to quiet)
skunk2 (nice sound, good brand)
greaddy (some ppl say its nice but other say its quiet i dont want quiet)
Mugen (heard its really good)

*looks and mostly SOUND is what matters not so much performance but that would be great too
PLZ HELP!!

Re: 5TH GEN Exhaust H22A

Trust me, and anyone else whos posts on this thread, you dont want to make a prelude sound ricey. I personally have the ebay N1 and its really nice, and not oo much rasp. Skunk2 i heard is loud but ive heard customer service is kinda shady. Greddy, I havent heard much about. And for a Mugen exhaust, be ready to fork over atleast $1300 for a new system.

Re: 5TH GEN Exhaust H22A

I have a green 99 prelude. I have a custom exhaust that a friend of mine help weld together. I can tell you that if sound is your overall goal, just run straight pipe. I ran my car for one day, because it took two days to finish, with just header and pipe all the way back to the about the rear axle and it was loud as shyt. if you wanna be that guy, do that. I ended up finishing the exhaust with muffler and CAT and the exhaust was pretty quiet after that. I ran 2.5in Stainless steel pipe. I would recommend 3inSS pipe though if I were to do it again. got the Pipe from JEGS spent ~$200

N1 is a style... You can drop money on an Apex'i N1 of good quality or a cheap ebay N1... If you consider that exhaust to be too quiet, you must be deafer than Helen Keller.
Skunk2, GReddy both make more than one type of exhaust for Preludes so I don't know what sound you're talking about.
Mugen... Look, if you think N1 is too quiet, and you want to sound like a moron, look like a moron, as well as get profiled by cops, and have everybody hate you, just remove the exhaust all together and run open-header. At least you'll get noticed and be louder than everyone else.

Re: 5TH GEN Exhaust H22A

Guys, don't feed the troll.

He says he wants loud - but mentions mugen is good but greddy is quite.

His s/n is DRIFT...

He wants the car to be louder than his friends and sound like a ricer...

$400 won't buy any exhaust worth a damn.

OP: Take your muffler off while it's hot. Then firmly insert the warm dual tips as far into your anal cavity as they will go.

I was just trying to help actually. Didn't say I agree with OP at all.

Just cut the muffler off with a saw. Exhaust done. Loud and ricey

Re: 5TH GEN Exhaust H22A

stop being c*nts, he asked a legitimate question.

You want loud and rice, get an eBay muffler (n1 style) and straight pipe a 3" exhaust to it. Won't cost you more than 300.

That was no legitimate question.

If you're going to go through the trouble of getting a 3" straight pipe - 200 will barely cover a cheap pipe kit not welded together. At that point, for a rice loud sound - why bother with a muffler that doesn't do **** anyway?

With the labor involved in matting that to the factory downpipe or wherever you intend to connect to - it's a waste of time. Remove the muffler and call it a day.

Don't unbolt your axle back, it sounds nice at idle but once you rev it it sounds loud as hell and ricey.

Re: 5TH GEN Exhaust H22A

This was a legit question, I decided to keep my exhaust stock though and put the money towards other car upgrades. I listened to the exhaust sounds on ebay, so I guess I didn't have a good idea of the sound. I don't want it ricey though I want my lude to b very clean not obnoxious but not stock either if that makes sense. Thanks for everyone's comments
