2001 Prelude Heated Side Mirrors not working.

Hey Guys,
So a few days ago I hit the heated side view mirror switch and nothing happened. I replaced the switch but still nothing, To move the side mirrors works on both switches just not the heated switch. Need help! What could it be?

Thank you in advance.

Re: 2001 Prelude Heated Side Mirrors not working.

Possible fuse or relay related issue- check the fuses first followed by relay (if one is installed for the heated option)

Have you tested the switch for power when trying to turn it on? Also check your door harness, it's known to break over time - could have a short.

What fuse should it be? Where is the relay located? So would that mean I need a new wire harness?

Since USDM spec preludes did not come with heated mirrors, I cannot specify exactly which fuse it is... check your fusebox listing...

I'm unsure if the system came with a relay or not- which is why I said if it came with one.

The harness in the door, if broken, can be "fixed" via soldering and heat shrinking any broken wires back together. Or purchasing new OEM harness/parts.

So I found this?

Do you guys think it could be C972 (To Power Window Relay)? If so wouldn't the hole door not work?

Re: 2001 Prelude Heated Side Mirrors not working.

Try this from this thread maybe (I should go try it too... I've honestly been too lazy to fix it since this old thread)

5th gen heated mirror problems

"Yes it is a common problem with the heated mirror button. I have had 2 of them go on me. I am so happy that I finally fixed it last night. All you need to do it to take it apart with a small screwdriver (take out the screw and be careful not to break the clips) and bend a metal piece further up which acts as a spring. Once you do that then the metal piece will make proper contact with the micro switch. Over time that metal piece gets flattened and does not make proper contact with the switch. So the developing symptom of this problem would be having to hold the button down further before the LED would come on. Since you have it opened, I would also suggest to stretch the actual spring to make the button have more rebound. " -SmokingStallion

Re: 2001 Prelude Heated Side Mirrors not working.

I guess check all the fuses next, hopefully it's one of them and not a relay

I can't recall which fuse it was

Re: 2001 Prelude Heated Side Mirrors not working.

I have check the fuses nothing. What relay would it be? The weird thing is I can move the side mirrors fine, or does that not matter?
