Install Power Folding Mirrors Help [FIXED]

Hello,

I've searched everywhere and only found two very useful threads on Power Folding Mirror Installation.
Thread 1 is for the 4th Gen: EXT: 4th gen - DIY Retrofitting JDM Power Folding Mirrors
Thread 2 is for the 5th Gen: JDM POWER FOLDING MIRRORS guide

The thing is I have the relay mentioned in the Thread 1 and I have the mirrors mentioned in Thread 2.

This is the relay I have (same one used in Thread 1 EXT: 4th gen - DIY Retrofitting JDM Power Folding Mirrors )

This is the relay used in Thread 2 ( JDM POWER FOLDING MIRRORS guide )

Mirror I have (Driver Side):

The wiring diagram matches the wiring diagram on Thread 2( JDM POWER FOLDING MIRRORS guide ). RED/YELLOW & BLUE/RED are the wires I need to figure out that will go into the relay I have.

I've managed to get the JDM Switch to work (mirrors will go up/down & left/right on both USD and JDM mirrors)
I just can't get the power folding button to work.

Here is what I tried:

Thread 1 says "the blue/yellow wire on the very right of the green plug. That is the wire coming from the relay." The wire on the very far right of my JDM Switch (green plug on the back) is RED/GREEN so I connected that to the YELLOW/BLUE wire on the relay.

Thread 1 says "8. There is a grounding point by the door speaker. The bolt is copper. Use that as your ground." so I used the copper bolt on my door as grounding for the black wire on my relay.

Thread 1 says "16. Run the yellow/white wire to the ignition switch. Hook it up to the white wire for a constant 12 volt."
I assumed this green plug behind my ignition is the "ignition switch".

so I pulled out the green plug and this is what I found:

the plug looks like there are 2 white wires
The white wire on the left is for sure all white.
The white wire on the right is all white with some splodge of light grey near the end points of the wire.

so that left me with 4 wires left on the relay. (RED/BLUE, BLUE, RED, WHITE/BLUE)

Both my driver side and passenger side mirrors have 2 free wires (YELLOW/RED & BLUE/RED) so that's a total of 4 wires which are needed to be connected to the relay I have.

I've already tried connecting the YELLOW/WHITE wire from the relay to the far left WHITE wire on my ignition switch and then trying multiple combinations of matching my driver side mirror wires (YELLOW/RED & BLUE/RED) to the 4 excess wires on the relay.

That didn't work so I tried connecting the YELLOW/WHITE wire from the relay to the far right WHITE wire on my ignition switch and then trying the multiple combinations of matching my driver side mirror wires to the excess wires on the relay.
Again I had no luckkk :/

Did I mess up somewhere?
Can the relay from Thread 1 and the mirrors from Thread 2 work together on the 5th gen prelude?
Do I have the wrong relay for the 5th Gen?
Any and all input is greatly appreciated!
I'm super desperate in getting the power folding mirrors to work on my lude before I start driving her again >_<

Thanks again!

-------------------------------------------

WoW!!! moments after posting this thread I found exactly what i needed to know! :D

the wiring for my relay:

blue/white - right mirror fold motor,
red - right mirror fold motor,
blue/yellow - from the switch,
black - ground,
white/yellow - power (+12V constant)
blue - left mirror fold motor,
blue/red - left mirror fold motor.

I also figured out that I've been using the wrong white wire. The +12V Constant wire is a super thick white wire attached to the Ignition Switch (the plug with the light blue end point)

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HAPPY IT WORKS ^_^

Re: Install Power Folding Mirrors Help

^^ they're pretty rare. You just have to luck up on somebody selling theres.

I see the setup from time to time. Usually with a non working relay.

If you know 'lectrical stuff you could probably diy your own relay from radio shack parts n peices.
Check out sites like garage journal.com or go to books a million and buy a basic auto electrical book.

Re: Install Power Folding Mirrors Help

I'm in japan and I can go to a junk yard and get the mirrors, switch, harness, relay etc. I just don't know where in the car to find the relay.
