Burned SPark Plugs

Soooo I didn't Gap the last spark plugs I installed (They were NGK Iridiums too :( )

Long story short, 3 months later i got a misfire on cylinders 1 and 4, I pulled the plugs to inspect them and they looked like someone put them in a deep fryer :/

My question is, do I have to replace the wires as well as the plugs or can I just replace the plugs making sure to gap them this time?

Re: Burned SPark Plugs

Iridiums are pre gapped if i'm not mistaken so that shouldn't be your problem. Bad wires wouldn't really cause that either.

By being in a deep fryer do you mean that they were kind of charred and black on the ends?

Re: Burned SPark Plugs

I always check the gap anyway.

Some kid at advance hands you a $36 box of spark plugs and says 'they're gapped already'.
No offense to ngk, but, mistakes happen.

That's your problem man...

Too many headers. You're only supposed to have one!

Re: Burned SPark Plugs

that's kinda funny bykfixer! lol yea man that doesn't sound good i'm not sure how much knowledge you have about cars and trust me i think i know something and then i'm wrong lol.... anyway i would try putting regular stock spark plugs in it especially if you don't have any kind of super tuned engine and you're not running any kind of different fuel other than regular.... when your getting a fouled plug your either running too rich or you have some kind of burning oil problem and i'm sure there's other problems that could cause it also but ..... what was the reason for buying iridium plugs?.... you gotta have a reason to make a change like that you know... how were the old plugs when you replaced them? were you having a problem or was it time to change them? ... how old are the wires? when i bought my lude they had the original wires and plugs from 1987.... and it was still running good... not great lol but it was running decently
