Icon5 Aftermarket Companies Rep?

So I've been browsing these forums for quite sometime now and see how they're a lot of people who know their shiz. I'm looking to buy a 5th Prelude and have been going over what upgrades I'd put in with my friend for awhile. I'm starting to come to the realization that some companies are more reputable than other when it comes to the same part. Like how Skunk2, although gets the job done, seems to have some bad juju for some reason...

So my question is, is there any aftermarket companies I should be wary of or more inclined to buying from? And does any one have any stories of one company just over all sucking?

Thanks in advance

Re: Aftermarket Companies Rep?

andys autosports has iffy customer service

PWJDM - although the cheapest and only place for some parts - has shady business practices

Same goes for S2 as you already seem to know.

I started doing reviews for a TON of sites over on prelude central... just tossing that out there

Re: Aftermarket Companies Rep?

the only companies who are reputable, IMO, are the ones whose products get used as intended. racers dont use junk parts or parts that dont do the job they are intended to do.

it all comes down to what part you want. there are plenty of "forum goers" who buy parts and say they are great when they never really use them to know.

like people who buy crower cams for their honda and say "man, these are the best" simply because its what they have and they wouldn't know best if it broad sided them.

you will pay for a reputable companies product and there will be multiple strings of the "same" product for half the price. but dont let "same" fool you. its half price for a reason.

Re: Aftermarket Companies Rep?

I purchased goods from JHPUSA.COM

products I bought I almost cought all of them when they have a sale and there customer services has been great with me. I actually paid and purchased for an item and found out it was out of stock. I was able to call them directly and they next day shipped it to me because of the late notice

I totally agree. This way, you can see how long people have been using their parts and their impressions of them. This way, you know you're getting the info from someone who has experience direct with them.

I get you, it's hard to compare for those who've only had 1 part but are you also saying "Crower" sucks as manufacturer orrr...?
