Icon5 GETTING NEW SEATS

If i were to get new seats, lets say NRG reclinable seats for my lude.. would i have to custom make my own bracket slider/mount or is there already one that fits onto an NRG seat which will also fits onto my car.

One more question, whats a good inexpensive type of seat that forsure already fits onto a 5th gen and what are the materials will i need to install them ?

HELPPP!!!

Re: GETTING NEW SEATS

im sure if you search this info, you will find alot of good information........

people have been doing seats for a long time, and alot of people do it.... so thats probably why you have so many views with no responses.

Re: GETTING NEW SEATS

Factory seats. Replace bottom foam so side bolster is no loner broken. Drive happy.

S2000 and RSX seats fit, but all have their flaws and odd ways of mounting.

There are plenty of aftermarket seats out there. Some sell brackets to match, some require modification of factory, others use universal.

Understand that most aftermarket seats have a fair share of cons with very little pros in a street car.

The bad;

Inability to recline
If able to recline - will not recline fully without hitting armrest in back seat
Lack of seatbelt receiver space
Lack of seatbelt receiver mounting
Brackets in need of "modification" to fit
Too wide and hit center consul and door panels
Very little weight savings unless full carbon fiber

The good;

Snug fit to hold driver in hard turns
Better back support
Some lower/higher vs stock
Some more comfortable vs stock

After owning a set of aftermarket seats, I couldn't be happier going back to stock.

Re: GETTING NEW SEATS

s2k seats can be done by swapping the prelude rails and seat pan onto them. i did it. it's easy simply search.
