SNOW

Hey guys, so I live in Utah and just yesterday the snow hit us hard! Just wondering what I could do to make my car a little bit better in the snow. So far I've bought snow tires and yellow fog lights. Thanks in advance!

Re: SNOW

Drop the car to 1", so you can plow the snow out of your drive way...............

j/k
You should carry a bag of regular kitty litter, a shovel that folds up, some road flares if you travel a lot from civilization, and one extra set of clothes in a gym bag. Scouting rifle optional....

Re: SNOW

Powder snow, crystal snow or wet snow there?

Where I live(south east) wet snow and not a lot of inch-age, wider tires, slighty low on air pressure is best. If we do get any real snow everything closes down. Even wal mart.

I think up north (east) they say skinny tires, steelie wheels etc keep the foot-age of powdering snow from clogging your wheels and cuts a narrow path for best results.

When you say UTAH+SNOW, this is what I picture:

You can never leave the city, but that right there is beautiful.

Yes-sir!!!
Never been out west myself. But when surfing great Jerry Lopez dropped his boards off at the goodwill store prior to moving to Utah to hook up with skateboarding great Tom Sims (neither of which are Mormon) to do some snow board building and riding, it told me that place must be hill sliding Utopia.

Edit
One day Jerry showed Laird Hamilton cheupou, a gigantic wave on the north shore. Laird said 'no f@#kin' way I'm riding that, you do it Jerry' Jerry was like, 'No way, I'm too young to die' but come to Utah and let me show you what Tom is doing'. Soon after Laird was in Utah with Jerry and

It can be done... on snow board sized wave riders... Laird got with Dave Kilahma the wind surfing legend and the rest is history. 75' waves are being ridden thanks to good ole Utah snow.

That, and be gentle on the pedals. Doesn't matter what tires you have -- there's not as much grip in snow as on pavement, especially for STOPPING. I've found a couple of traction mats (old carpet samples work well) are often more useful for extracting yourself than a bag of sand, which is really only good on ice or snow packed nearly as hard. And don't forget a shovel. :)

Snow teaches drivers humility.

Re: SNOW

looks like you have what you need men, snow tires, and a metal shovel (Good incase you need to break a patch off ice to get going)
