Got my car back today. SH to H23A swapped =)

Had a 1999 Black SH, the SH block had around 220 thousand miles on it and started leaking coolant into engine. At the same time I noticed that my tranny was starting to slip up a lot as well so I had a engine and tranny swap to think of. Because my ATTS unit already went out I decided to convert it to something else instead of going the same route.

In the end I redid the entire front, and hauled her over to speed factory for the H23A vtec swap with a T2T4 lsd tranny. Feels good to breathe life into her again! I'm really enjoying the H23A engine.

If you guys are interested in everything that was required for the H22A - sh to the H23a swap I'll post it up.

Note the humongous crack in the bumper from the previous owner ;_;

Please post what you needed . My SH, although having a fully rebuilt engine, has 252k miles on it and growing daily. It's funny that everything still works and it runs great, but I don't see the point of doing full bolt ons + tune if I'm gonna lose ATTS. Might as well just get rid of it.

Congrats on the swap, why a H23 over H22?

I believe under 250whp is fine for ATTS.

Bolt-ons and a tune won't get you that high, you need F/I to start getting around those numbers.

^^Yeah but a tuneable ECU would render his ATTS useless. And the H23a has more torque and a better powerband, someone could explain better but basically you get more torque at a lower RPM, and more torque equals more fun

Nice pictures I did a similar swap on mine, but with an JDM h22a. The front end repair look good!

Steps were:
Rewiring Distributor for the H23 OBD1
Swapped H22 IM to the H23
ATTS delete
Midshaft and Passenger axle
replace ECU with chipped OBD1 ECU
Replace OBD2 with OBD1 conversion harness

and finally tune all the things

Basically what Underground1606 said in his post, it has more torque, and in my humble opinion is better suited for city driving. Feels like I get a lot more power in the lower RPMS than the H22A4.

Sorry for the ****ty quality!
