Regaurding fluctuating rpms.

I know I have already brought this topic up and its been resolved with the FITV thread. But as you guys know that the RPMSs go up and down from 1k-2k for a couple minutes til the car is warmed up. Is this a major problem or minor problem? and will it affect my car in any way if I don't get this fixed ASAP? Thanks for the help guys.

Re: Regaurding fluctuating rpms.

Major problem? No
Major annoyance? Yes.

What have you done so far to try to relieve the symptoms?
Is your engine stock or modified? If mods, what kind?

No wait you're the guy with bouncing idle when motor is cold.
Do you have a service manual? If so locate the coolant hoses and find your temp sensors. Check your ground wires real good. Sometimes the ends aren't connected well due to age/corrosion and that can lead to erratic flow of electricity to those sensors.

Re: Regaurding fluctuating rpms.

Check vacuum lines, and EGR system. Those are usually the most problematic when it comes to fluctuating idle on start up.

Re: Regaurding fluctuating rpms.

I've fixed this problem by replacing the FITV. Thanks to all of those with the info!
