Looking for a H22A4 SH. Can someone help?

Hello, Looking for an H22A4 SH for my 1998 White Sh Prelude. Love the car but I can't even drive it since there is no engine. I've been looking for one month and I can't find one. I have tried junkyards autopart stores ebay sellers asking them what they have. I have tried Craigslist in multiple states around me. I need YOUR help! :D I know you're excited. If you know anyone or any store near you or anything that could possibly have the motor I am looking for I would greatly be pleased. I know everyone on here is happy to welcome someone to this community so I am putting myself out there. Finding this for me would make my whole entire year! Thank you to anyone who has read this. Prefereably under 70k miles and under 1600 dollars total with shipping. Thank you!

Re: Looking for a H22A4 SH. Can someone help?

What you mean you can't drive it without a motor?
Fred Flinstone did it every Mo-Fri.

Try 'honda jdm engine importers usa' in your favorite search engine.
I got jspec and several others with that. They are typically 30-60k mile engines. You want type s. That's the jdm SH.

Also try car-part.com for used ones from us cars. Woodfins auto .com sells nice used us motors as well. Or you can try roadkillcustoms.com to get a list of junkyards in your state and check with them.

$1600? Hmmm yeah probably, but depending on where you are shipping may put you over that some.
Here's one example. It's for the base model.
http://www.jspecauto.com/catalog_pro...px?prod_id=445

1600 total? Hmmm, that's a toughy. And usually they only ship to a shop unless you pay extra for home delivery.

Re: Looking for a H22A4 SH. Can someone help?

Hey, Thank you for the reply. I am going to checkout the websites you suggested. I've called to all the junkyards in my area with no luck already. And there is an actual difference between Type-S and SH. I need the ATTS to bolt onto the block. Type-S wouldn't fit with the ATTS or the transmission I have. I need to use the transmission and atts as I don't have any money to buy another transmission. But I will definitely checkout the suggested sites.

The Type-S uses ATTS.

Alright I have confirmed your statement :) Thank you for correcting me. I have an m2u4 transmission with my atts from h22a4 sh. I've been looking around now for a while to see if the s type has the same tranny and I have found nothing. But I am assuming the m2u4 was the only tranny that works with the atts anyways. Can you confirm this? And another question of mine is... can I use my stock ecu from h22a4 sh on the h22a from stype or do I have to use ecu specific to the stype h22a. And I will continue to lookup info while waiting for a response. Thank you.

Re: Looking for a H22A4 SH. Can someone help?

Hey moshkid. Get with 1897. Good seller who knows the deal.
A used engine should be rebuilt anyway and you can probably get that one with a bad ring at a GREAT price.
If I was in the market that engine would be first on my list.

Re: Looking for a H22A4 SH. Can someone help?

I went with a Type S motor with atts, maybe you should consider doing that. I have a Sh long block with a built head and type S cam not really for sale but money talks. I purchased the block brand new from Honda because I couldnt find a Sh motor either it has roughly 30K miles on it, Im outside of Chicago

Not worth it. H23a is 850 and a good lsd trans is 1k.

I joined this forum to post this link for you. I saw it on craigslist this morning. Don't know if you need a tranny but it will get you half way there. I should go introduce myself too I guess. I drive an accord but just purchased an h22a4 that I am rebuilding.

Re: Looking for a H22A4 SH. Can someone help?

Hello. I want to update everyone with what I am doing. I have purchased a Type S JDM longblock. I am keeping my atts and my m2u4 transmission. I apologize for not replying for a while. I will update people when I start the swap. The longblock is coming either tomorrow or thursday.
