Gas Mileage

I have a 99 Prelude with just over 127k kms (80k miles) on it and im getting around 300kms(190miles) per tank.
I was wondering if this is average or is there something wrong with my car?

I get around 320-340 miles. My record is over 400 miles. I would definitely say something is wrong. I have a '98 with the exact same mileage btw

I rarely go past 3000 revs, maybe like once a week ill hit vtec but thats it. Plus I just had my oil changed about 200kms ago and my mileage still isn't any better.

read the cluster on your car. it says premium fuel only. you shouldn't run 89 octane in a prelude.

no, do not take your o2 sensors off unless you have the engine tuned to run open loop. My engine is tuned (fuel and ignition) at damn near every RPM and throttle percentage point. I am able to get away with not using o2 sensors and still get good gas mileage. I single handedly can alter the fueling and ignition without an O2 sensor trying to compensate.

^ beautiful. I need to learn tuning, so I don't have to hate my car so much.

Well I don't have a tps sensor also I have a leak in my headers (the gasket is coming out) and my 02 sensor is bad Oh and my idle stays at 1500 so all that could cause to bad mileage and that gas smell rite?

Yeah I was going to say around 340 - 360 has been my personal best, but I do use 89 octane. May do better on 92. I'm a bit older and don't drive the car like a race car. I would say if I ran it harder I would get alot less like 240 - 270 per tank.

Speaking of rpms is there a way to raise r lower your idle without a computer? I idle at like 600-700 and the vibration is annoying, 900-1000 would be perfect.

Should be some sort of way to adjust engine idle without the computer I would say somewhere on the throttle body or near it.

Consult a Haynes Manual best place to check.
