Top speed run!

Got my Lude to 145 yesterday. I've seen people get to 150 but once I got to 145 it just wouldn't go any more. What have yall topped out at?

Props dude!

I was pretty stoked when I got up to 105 in the high desert. Haha. Didn't have much of a stretch to do it on though.

I get to 130 pretty handily now, but I usually get scared at that point and back off.

Re: Top speed run!

60 in 2nd gear when I first got a 97. I was happy with that. Took about 150 yards to do it. Stopped about as fast. It was making that posted 15 S turn at 45 that impressed me with the 5th gen.

The 5th typically tops out around 140-145 when stock.

Re: Top speed run!

I get to 110mph very easy but Iv'e never taken it past that. If I had some mod's such as suspension upgrade, sway bars/strut bars, and thicker tires than I'd probably be a little more brave.

Re: Top speed run!

like some others no way in hell I'm confident to go for top speed...I run skinny tires for fuel mileage (195 55 15) stock is 205 55 15.

Today I got wheel spin going into 2nd gear so I'm happy with that even though you WANT traction. lol

Re: Top speed run!

186
km/h ))
my lude accelerates easyly to 180, but then you need more runway lenght īcause usually the straight road ends... however, my town is at 8500 feet a.s.l.

itīs pretty scary. going 60 in a lude is the same feeling like going 120 in hyunday H-1

for 92ī 4th gen, what is the standart top speed at 5th redline?

Re: Top speed run!

lol, I crave speed... I used to do 130+ everyday to work i think the max i hit was 145 and it still had some room to go, didnt take long either. With this new turbo build I can only imagine how quick it will be now.

As for the guy who did 143 with 4 others in the car....thats just stupid, u have their lives in your hands and at those speeds something could easily happen and they more then likely would all be killed.

Re: Top speed run!

Driving those speeds in traffic is not responsible folks.

So in other words, hold off on the where's unless it was at a sanctioned location.
Street racing is verboten... and kamakazi runs border on same.

Take hseriousness' comment. It just so happens the shortcut to school for him was down a drag strip between his house and school. get it?

Re: Top speed run!

I've had my 4th gen (H23 auto) up to 125 going down hill with a stiff breeze, and my 5th gen SH up to 135, but I backed off cause of a off balance tire shaking me like Michael J. Fox.

Same here man, you hit a ripple or bump at that speed, you're airborn. You do it once to know there are no issues with the car at any speed. No reason to repeat. Members here my only suggestion: Do not make a habit of driving this way, as BykFixr said, test the car on the public road, knowing you're jeopardizing your license.

exactly...
you have a god dam right to kill yourself (if you donīt care about ur mother/wife/son/etc), but you shouldnīt be risking other peoplesī lives that way

my buddy was at 155 with his 350Z when he met a little bump...
now hi has half of his leg bones made of titanium...
he donīt race now

yeah, speed is no joke. one of my friends that i graduated high school died a week ago trying to jump a bridge with 2 of her friends in the car. she died of shock before the car hit the tree and rolled. the 2 passengers came out okay though.

picture is pretty graphic. driver side front tire is in the driver's seat :/

Geez, how the hell could forensics figure that out?! That car looked like a giant chewed it up. Never ever involve your friends in Grade A stupidity.

Re: Top speed run!

152 in Alyxx the other night on my way from fort worth to houston. was racing a couple of chicks who thought they were hot **** in a hyundai genesis (the 2.0 version) she (the lude) didnt seem to be trying too terribly hard to get there but let me just say that is the FIRST and ONLY time ive tried that, and it was 1:00 in the morning so i cant 100% vouch for how easily i got up there. i just know they disapeard when i hit 4th gear at 75mph XD being my first stick shift vehicle, it has taken me over a month to learn what it can really do when you dont care bout mileage lol

also let me say this, with Alyxx, the guy who owned her before I had done some work. she is not stock but Im not for sure what all he did, all i know is she was one of 3 that he owned, and one of them was a custom built drag car... and he KNEW what he was doing...

As for the guy who did 143 with 4 others in the car....thats just stupid, u have their lives in your hands and at those speeds something could easily happen and they more then likely would all be killed.

And you're not putting HUNDREDS of other drivers' lives on the highway at risk when you're doing 145?!?!?!?!

You're all a bunch of retards. Bans will be issued if this topic is brought up again.
