headlights wont go bright

I can turn them on with the switch and all i get is dim. Flip it to bright and i get the bright icon on the dash but the lights never switch. Would this be a bad switch?
Btw its a 98 prelude

Re: headlights wont go bright

are the bulbs bad? you could try hooking the brights wire to the low beam bulb on one side and see if it works

Does it go from parking lights, Night time lights, and then stay the same? If so as teghead81 said, probably your bulbs.

Yes, turn the switch my perk lamps come on. Then, headlamps come one but pulling the switch the icon comes on for bright but headlamps don't change. I'll go right now and check my bulbs. Sorry, new to preludes. Last night was the first time driving at night in it. Bought it yesterday lol.

Re: headlights wont go bright

Thanks guys for making me feel dumb. Pulled one and the wire from one of the blades on the bulb to the bulb is burnt in two and the other the filament is broken rolling around inside. Wasnt expecting both bulbs to be bad
