Can this be right?

SO I just swapped an h23vtec into my 98 base. Can anyone confirm this?

Mods....
1. H23vtec
2. Skunk2 tuner 2 camshafts
3.Vms adjustable cam gears
4.Skunk2 70mm Intake Manifold
5. Skunk2 70mm Throttle body
6. aem intake system.
7. Bdl fuel rail
8. 310cc RC injectors
9. Aem adjustable fuel pressure regulator (blox fuel pressure guage)
10. Mishimoto radiator
11. DC header
12.2.75" exhaust ( has cat and resonator)
13. Greddy muffler
14. Chipped p28 ( tuned by fast tech)
15. Innovative motor mounts (way to stiff, shake whole car)
16 XTD stage 3 clutch

After the tune the numbers were none to impressive. Top HP was 186.5 on a dyno dynamics dyno. WHy is this? I feel like I should have at least broken the 200 mark. After all, this motor stock come with 197bhp wich translates to about 165whp. Did I only gain 20 Hp?
And there is a vibration coming from the motor when power band hits hardest. COuld this be from bad valve springs? AS I was priming motor the springs seemed kinda weak, I attributed this to it sitting for 10 years, but now i'm thinking I'm gonna need a head rebuild. Please let me know what you guys think. I used to love, and I mean love, my car. BUt after all this it's made me really want to get rid of it. IT seems anytime I try and do something to it, its a major fail and I end up wasting my money. after this was all said and done the bill was around 9k and that just in parts and dyno time. MONEY PIT!!!!!! for 186.5 hp

Re: Can this be right?

N/A is not cheap.

I don't see why you would spend the money on that combination of parts when half of them don't even work well with one another let alone needed for what you could be making.

DC header - junk

stage 3 clutch - not needed

motor mounts- they break in, but if you have over 75a on a street car with less than 225whp - it's overkill.

The intake manifold and throttle body aren't doing you much if any good at all with stage2 cams and nothing else internally done.

At the same time, have you had the cam gears adjusted? Sounds like you could use a better tune. I would expect around 190-200whp as well with it dialed in properly.

Re: Can this be right?

My stock h23vtec made around 187hp on the rollers lol. Gotta remember every different brand dyno will read either higher or lower numbers
