Seriously this is annoying

For the last week I have been trying to swap in my Greddy catback exhaust system and my DC Sport Headers into this new lude I just bought. BUT FOR THE LOVE OF GAWD every bolt on this car is seized, rusted, or stripped. Right now I can't get the bolts that connect the header to the exhaust off as well as the egr valve bolts. I have tried everything. I've torched em, smashed em, and lubed em up, but they wont budge. Im asking for people's advice who have experienced this and found a solution. PLEASE HELP ASAP!

Re: Seriously this is annoying

Once stripped you need to drill it out or vice grips. Preferably the drill. If they are that stuck you'll probably not get enough leverage with vice grips.
The not stripped ones should be saturated with wd40/pb blaster type lube and left to sit a day or more.

Then, you need accurate 6 point wrenches, a breaker bar and a 4' or more steel pipe. I say accurate because the cheapos are not as precision made as the good ones. They'll slip with mega torge-age you get with the pipe. 6 point will grip more area than a 12 point.

Rusted bolts may break. Figure on that and if they don't... bonus.
Figure on drilling and re-threading some of the screws.

Heat/time/torque have all caused those bolts to be fastened very well.

Good luck.

Worse comes to worse, a muffler shop will remove that old stuff for a fee.

Re: Seriously this is annoying

Breaker bar, or air tools, if they are stripped try a damaged bolt remover kit, if the pipes down below are real rusty just cut them off... That's what I did... But if the nuts are truly seized on the head studs like mine were, your troubles just begun....

You will need to cut or grind the heads down and the studs to next to nothing, try vice grips, then the ones that don't budge, drill....

Re: Seriously this is annoying

Buy pos wrenches and weld it to the bolt(s) let cool over night, twist off in the morning.

90amp flux welder should just about cover it.....

How bad to you want those parts?

Re: Seriously this is annoying

That too, that would actually work best, especially with a breaker bar.

You should return the DC sport header. They provide no power gain. Waste of money...

Just take it to a shop and have them chop It all off. Much easier.
