Icon5 speed sensor wire location in honda prelude 97

I just got a new head unit with nav and everything is working fine except that, I didn't wife the speed signal wire from the radio to the car. Does anyone know, where I can find the speed signal wire?. I've googled and researched but came accross nothing useful.

Download a service manual from the diy section/all service manual thread.
Chapter 23 should help.

Re: speed sensor wire location in honda prelude 97

Am unaware of how you need to sense what the vss is is telling your head unit so can't offer anything on connections.

But you asked about locations
Here goes:

P 23-15 has a diagram indicating it's C122.
P 23-44 shows fuse 14 includes the vss (your owners manual should say that too)
P 23-65 has location position on the motor and how to test.

That's all I got so good luck in your quest.

When you figure it out, a how to would be much appreciated.

Re: speed sensor wire location in honda prelude 97

Can someone tell me where in the firewall the vss wires are coming from......i just picked up this '97 base and the sensor is there but the pigtail isn't plugged in and i cannot see the wires for it anywhere. And maybe someone can also tell me where they plug into the interior at also so i can get an idea if the harness is even there...I'm new to the in depth engine aspect of cars so bare with me... and i did give the search a try and got to page 6 or so and may have overlooked it but i don't have a lot of time online at work and no internet at home....

plug it into the ECU....

its a blue/white wire. (blue wire and white stripe).

You can also find the same wire in your gauge cluster wirings

Re: speed sensor wire location in honda prelude 97

At the point where it exits the engine bay and enters the car it'll be in a group of wires.
Find the harness pages, figure out which harness it ebters the car in and trace to your issue.

Welcome to electronic cars 101.
