Will these wheels fit?

hey currently I have a 97 prelude with 205 50 16 wheels. I was wondering if 205 40zr 17 80w wheels would fit on it. It is lowered, just incase that factors in.

Re: Will these wheels fit?

It should fit. I had 205/40/17 on mine before I went with 18 inch rims. Mine wasn't lowered, but on that size wheel and tire combo your circumference of the complete wheel is almost the same as stock. Here is a pic of how it looked with the 17 inch rims.

Strange that just your right front rubs on the inside of the tyre. With those specs that you gave for the wheels and the amount that it has been lowered it should not rub anywhere. If you look from the top of the front fenders down to the ground, are both front wheels the same distance inside the body ? If not, something might be bend.

Same distance and everything. Im not on coils so the lowering spring may have just settled differently. I went back down to 16s and she still looks sexy :D

Re: Will these wheels fit?

I have Koni/GC setup almost maxed in the front and half in the back with 215/45/17 50mm offset and I'm golden so you should be fine.
Also what was said about the springs settling different is true, I had to adjust accordingly to that but I have coils so it was ok.

Re: Will these wheels fit?

Yea Ive been thinking about getting coils but I want to get the other things on my list out of the way first. I went back down to 16s, a little more meat on the tires then id prefer but I still like the way it looks.
