sounds like a load of bollocks to me. sort of like those products that "spin air" in your intake for max hp - LOL

this is what i got from google ;

Simply put, it lets the engine breathe. Engines produce power by burning a fuel/air mixture, the more fuel/air in, the more
power produced. As more fuel/air goes in an engine the larger and less restrictive the exhaust path must be to allow the
increased volume of burned fuel to exit. Exhaust pipes and mufflers restrict an engines ability to discharge burned fuel to no
more than the amount the system will flow. This is much like the flow of water in small hose vs a large one. Anyway, by
eliminating the restriction caused by the muffler, two things happen. One, more fuel/air (power) can be drawn in because the
flow going out has increased, Two, you get to make a lot of noise when you want it !

Our cutout basically allows you to control the exhaust flow (ability to make more power) and noise with a cockpit mounted
switch. By using a linear actuator, it can open to any position from full open to full closed allowing you to select the sound you
want. Our product not only increases performance on stock systems, it is a must have with nitrous, turbos, superchargers,
performance chips, street racers, street strip racers and of course those that want to just make noise on demand. Our
cutout does not "make" horsepower, it simply allows you turn loose what you already have available. Your results may vary
depending on what is available to you by running an open exhaust setup.

IMO - just get a good exhaust dont buy into this.

A cutout is definately not once of those products that just "spin air"... On muscle cars that are built for the drag strip.... many run cutouts with full exhaust and see full tenths of seconds shaved off their time... while many other run cutouts to have a louder more obnoxious sound... I'm familiar with V8s, and i know the concept is the same... but i dont know what these little 4 bangers would sound like with a cutout.

4 bangers usually sound pretty obnoxious with cutouts. its just like running an open header which sounds, well........... go unbolt your cat and start the car up, then decide if you wanna drive around liek that.

oh ok interesting...but do you think its worth putting something that makes tenths of a seconds difference on a 98 lude?

I know it matters to a v8 on the strip but it doesent sound worth the money on a honda :)

there's a saying...
"modding a honda isn't like modding an LS1 where you can clean out the ashtray and gain 40 horsepower"

yea, its much easier... slap on a sticker and that will net you that 40 horsepower!

honestly, im sure there would actually be some gains... because the concepts of a motor are still the same, whether is has 1 row of 4 pistons, or 2 rows... there might not be as much of a gain, because there isnt as much exhaust flowing.. but there still would be some gain none the less... But, i feel that it would be obnoxiously loud and annoying and i dont think i would do it.

unless you but it b/4 the cat it wont do to much but if you put it on it will sound like crap so just save the money and get a full high flow exhaust it will sound a lot better and have the same result
