A lot of people have had bad experiences with Silverstars burning out fast. I had mine for over a year before one of them when out. They are nice, but l'd look into something different, like PIAA.

I havent really heard much negative feedback about the Silverstairs. I think for the price, compared to other bulbs, theyre pretty decent. Although Ive only had mine for about 2 months, I really like 'em.

But hey, it really depends on how much you wanna spend

I agree(over and over again)Silverstars are indeed nice, but they blow out. Aren't they made by Sylvania? --European brand i believe...

PIAA's, POLARGS, RAYBRIG...

try the silverstars. I've had mine for 3 years and not a problem. they are insanely bright for halogens.

Well I think the Silverstars are worthless, I bought a set for my Cr-V and they both blew out. After returning to wal-mart 3 times and the same thing happening. I went with an HID conversion on the Cr-V.

That was 2 years ago, and still no a problem with the HID.

So to answer your ? Silverstar bulbs

My silverstars blew after a month and I had to drive home 40 miles with my brights on... pissed a buncha people off too. :/

Go with PIAA if you want name brand.
I got some bulbs from eBay for $16 and they're great. The writing on the box was in Japanese so I have no clue what they actually are.

I'm also looking for brighter lightbulbs because the lenses on my car are pretty scratched/warn out and i don't know how to fix it. I've tried toothpaste scrubbing and other "make your head lights like new" products and nothing works, havent tried sand paper yet- i'm scared it'll f it up and won't be able to fix it. I don't want any of that blue looking lights or anything, just some really nice and bright lights- was looking at silver star too but i dunno anymore

The make kits that you can find at your local car store that include the correct sandpaper and other agents to help clear yours up. Mine were like that buy luckily one of those products worked and restored mine almost back to brand new.

As for the headlights, why doesnt anyone like HIDs? I can get ahold of good quality HID kits for a discount with group buys(2 or more kits) They install in seconds(plug and play) and you can get the stock halogen color or the hyper white that some of you are looking for. They also have the blues/yellows/purples available.

I cant post links yet because this is my 2nd post but PM me if your interested and i can get a quote based on how many responses i get.

DO NOT BUY H1 SILVERSTARS!

Silvania keeps denying it but there is no doubt that they are worthless bulbs. The filament simply is not the right material or thickness to run as hot as they push it. I made the mistake when i first got my lude...lasted 2 months.

Stick with Piaa or Philips bulbs!

Or, better yet look into an HID projector retrofit! The brightest H1 bulb in the world is still 3 times less bright than a D2S HID bulb and $50 bosch projector.

I have no clue in light diferences....all I know is that the top portion of my headlights have this yellowness to them that won't scrub off or anything...its like the plastic has started to fade off and years of dirt, smog, exhaust, etc etc have compacted, so my light doesn't come through well...I just want a nice strong bright light...no special colors or alien bluish looking thing....I want beamer lights!!! what kind is that? the beamer style, where the light is reeeally bright and goes very far...

You're headlights need wetsanded and polished to get rid of that yellow oxidation damage.

And the "beamer headlights" are called "HID (xenon) Projectors"

I retrofit BMW, Audi, and TSX projectors into 5th gen preludes and this is the result I get from my prelude:

Retrofit on your Left, stock on right:

nice cutoff, so in the end how much was it for the retro and if you would break it down. Im considering getting some already done but with 2 halos in each. So if its greatly cheaper to do what you did then i will do it.

I have to have the xtralight Halo head lights, they look amazing and I imagine they only look better with their digital HID kit too. Should I get the LED ones or the other? Also their stock looking tail lights might get bought too so I can have clear turn signals.

I've done a few retrofits for people up in Canada and Jesse(JLUDE) probably has as well. Price just depends on what type of setup you're wanting really.
