This Doesn't Make Sense! WTF?!

Hey guys...I've noticed something recently that doesnt make any F-in sense to me...Ive seen 2 or 3 people complaining about the mileage that these cars get...i heard low 20s and even 19 mpg. I easily average 27-30 mpg even when i run it hard once or twice. I drive 20 miles one-way to work, all long straight country roads, and i fill up once a week. How do people get such terrible mileage figures when mine are nothing short or devine...My old car couldnt even break 22 or 23...and that was just a pushrod V8.

Don't get me wrong, Im not complaining, just trying to figure this out.

i'm pretty sure the ones getting the horrible milage are the ones who are having alotta engine problems, i.e. fluctuating idle, stalling, running too rich, etc etc, which makes sense cuz their engines arent running optimal.

This is true, I recently had an O2 sensor go out and it was directly effecting my gas milage and making my engine run rough.

All I know is my lude gets amazing gas mileage and compared to my other car it's like driving a hybrid haha. My last car had a lot of problems including the
o2 sensor going out, among other things. I can go about 250 miles on a half a tank with my lude and I love it!!!

you just gotta stick it to da man. I get more attention from the fuzz when Im driving the Impala...which looks just like a cop car. The fuzz dont even pay attention to the lude, even with bright ass blue LEDs as my parking lights.

You know I get horrible gas mileage too- the check engine light should go on if i have bad 02's shouldn't it? And my idle IS NOT consistant...i get this weird hopping from about 600 to 900..any idea's what it can be? i drive about 70 miles a day from and to work...I filled up this sunday just to see how many times i can get to work on a full tank- i'm always down to half a tank and its barely wednesday =\....i do drive about 80 90 most of the way though =\....You guys cannot compare to the cop issue's here... just this morning, a few minutes ago i had 5 highway patrol cops on bikes behind me and 2 highway patrol cars =\ let me tell ya....makes you want to change your underwear...I'm just glad i don't have my mustang anymore, that thing sounded so sick and load and it smelled like pure gasoline coming out the exhaust! LOL

your speed is a key factor, the speed to get optimum gas milage is between 55mph and 60mph. I understand your not always going to go that speed in a 35 zone or a 70 zone but the closer to that speed you are the better milage you'll get.
