Choosing Tires for 17x8 35 offset in the rear

Im just trying to figure out which tire size is better for my rear setup.
I am lowered with 215 45 17 tires with a 17x8 35 offset in the rear with F&F type 2 coilovers. Max stiffness on damping
Currently i am rubbing when i have too much weight such as 4 passangers and when i take hard turn by myself or go on big dips.
I can stick 1 finger between the tire and my fender.

Im thinking of going 205 45 17 or 215 40 17
which choice seems better for going lower and not rubbing. I am planning on just rolling my fenders if i can't find good advice
My thoughts are 205 45 would tuck in, but im not sure if it will tuck in with no rub and 215 40 might look too small of a tire.
I ride 205 40 17x8 35 offset in the front btw

Get stronger springs. Rubbing isn't gonna change with tire width, might even rub in the wheel well.

He can't go any stiffer unless he gets a track set-up. For example Koni's revalvved for higher spring ratings. You have a good suspension set up. Why don'y you just role your fenders? and stretch your tire it would be more than good enough I think. Also some flicks would help

Re: Choosing Tires for 17x8 35 offset in the rear

Then I suggest dieting. Aftermarket springs, coilovers etc etc are off road use only and two occupant maximum.

But a decent roll and 30-35 ratio would be adequate.

You get 2 people in the backseat of a prelude? Wow! They must be mighty fine friends or the drinks are on you, one.

Are you trying to be fairly low? if so get your fenders rolled trim the bumper tabs and mend the metal behind the bumper and bend the metal for the screw up a little bit.

with this setup you shouldn't be rubbing alot. Also get rid of the 215/45 it's the 45 sidewall thats killing you. with a 205/40 should fit without rubbing. i just helped my friend with a type s install 17x8+34 with a 205/40 on his car. you can run up to a 235/40/17 with the right amount of fender work. Also how are you adjusting your coilovers.

Won't really help that much. I have 215/45/17 on my type s wheels (17x7) and i have bc racing coilovers with 12k front and 10k rear and i still rub on the inside. It's his tire size. i'm also runnning that same tire size on a 9.5 and i rub a little.
