Icon8 engine cuts off help!!

Hey guys,

I have a Honda prelude 1998 vti-r base,

Every time i start the car it blows the 10amp imobiliser fuse so i changed it for a 20amp still blew it instantly.

I figured out that every time the engine lifts up under under throttle the car cuts off and blows the fuse.

It seems like the engine is pulling on a wire and causing a short circuit i cant seem to find what wire its pulling on or what may cause this?

Thanks cyberdec.

Re: engine cuts off help!!

http://www.preludezone.com/general-t...e-manuals.html i don't really like how i have the manuals organized on there, but am working on a better way to do it. still educating myself in PDF.

what you are looking for should be in chapters 1-4 (general, spec, maintenance, engine electrical) or in chapter 23 (electrical)

good luck! also google blowing the immobilizer fuse, other prelude owners have most likely experienced the problem in the past.

Never ever EVER replace a fuse with a bigger one, that's one of the most dangerous things you could possibly do!!!!

You have a short somewhere. Time to start getting acquainted with the engines wiring harness and grounds.

I no not to put a bigger fuse but a 20amp fuse will not hurt it :) it blew it instantly.
