Fuel pump/start problem

Hey guys I have 97 prelude that recently started to struggle to start. A few days ago it stopped struggling and just wont start at all. The engine is cranking just fine and i checked my spark (seems to be fine) so the next thing i'm thinking is a fuel problem. I looked at a couple of the posts about this here and found that people were checking to hear if the pump was priming and we confirmed that we could hear the low hum from the fuel tank so i think it's working.

what would be ya'lls' next step?

Re: Fuel pump/start problem

How old are your plugs, also in what condition are they? Even though your fuel pump is working, you may not be getting fuel to the engine. One problem could be a clogged fuel filter. Try cranking it a few times (5-6 times), then pull a plug. Does it smell like gas? If so, then you are getting fuel. Then check to see if your plugs are completely fouled out, or too worn to provide spark (electrode completely worn, or too large of gap). Your main relay could be crapping out too. Apparently it happens to a ton of Prelude owners.

You have to work down the list of probable causes and cross them off as you go. There are literally hundreds of reasons as to why your engine will not start.
