Condenser fan runs 24/7

Here's the thing.... Came home one day turned off my car and went inside, everything was fine. Came outside about 5 hours later and I hear my car making a noise. I pop the hood to find the condenser fan was on and running. Turned on my car and it kept running, turned it off and still running. I pulled the condenser fan fuse and it stopped. But now I don't know why it's doing this. I am having issues with my A/C as it doesn't work because when the AC is first turned on the AC condenser runs for about a minute then dies which I think is air in the system. But I've been without AC for months because of that so I doubt my fan running 24/7 is related to that. I researched and found that it can be a bad relay but that was for accords and don't know if the same applies to our cars.
Why is it doing this? Also is there a way I can disable to AC system all together? A fuse? or disconnecting something? I don't want to delete it but just make sure it's not running over night to kill my battery.

Re: Condenser fan runs 24/7

Sounds like a bad relay -- that's where I'd start. In the meantime, open the underhood fuse box and pull the 15A fuse from the number 9 slot...that's the condensor fan fuse.

Re: Condenser fan runs 24/7

taking out the fan relay should get it to stop

To test the relay theory, you can remove a known good one from the fuse box and slave it into the AC relay socket to see if it fixes your fan issue.

Re: Condenser fan runs 24/7

Where's the relay located? For some reason all the helms manuals I've downloaded are missing the AC chapter.... just my luck. I pulled the fuse and it doesn't run.

Got an extra sensor laying around?
Have you checked majestic diagrams? Sometimes I use their diagrams to find stuff the manual makes me search hi n low for.

Re: Condenser fan runs 24/7

Well I went into the electrical part of the manual and found the relay. Its by the windshield washer fluid resviour. The one under the fuse box is the radiator fan

If it's where I'm thinking it is, that oughta be nice n fun switching.
