What does this do?

Can someone tell me what the control device does on the h22a4?

This assembly: CONTROL DEVICE for 2001 HONDA PRELUDE

I do not have mine, but the car seems to have no ill effects from it being gone, other than my current problem of my turbo setup burining oil, which i doubt is related. Thanks for the info!

Re: What does this do?

Exactly which part are you questioning?

I see a cruise control actuator, MAP sensor, EVAP canister, and EVAP solenoid.

You gotta be more specific than a "control device". That's about the most generic, vague description of a part ever.

Re: What does this do?

By "control device" u must mean "purge control solenoid" It does do something, not critical, unless u got an emissions test coming up..
Here's what it does tho: http://www.ricksfreeautorepairadvice...lt-malfunction Basically it saves u gas...

Maaaaybe just maybe your turbo needs a restrictor, can u see clouds behind you when boosting ? But it is unrelated to your "control device"..

Re: What does this do?

stactic: thank you for the information. And no I investigated today, I need to do a rebuild, the seals in it are going.

twokexlv6coupe: Where do you see the cruise control actuator? I am curious b/c that is something I need to get working.
