Spark Plugs and such

Took the lude into today, needed both o2s replaced and a new fuel filter(again not savy enough with my car to do DIY's just yet). My mechanic told me that I need to replace my spark plugs. He said that they seem to be have been due at 90kmi and my prelude is at 106k. Unfortunately, I didn't have the money for them to replace that today. Should I be concerned? I know that if I continue to wait my lude could misfire. Can someone shed some light on this subject for me?

Just order the Iridium IK20' s at Advance Auto. Order online, throw in some coupon codes, and do in-store pickup. That's what I do for everything. They will probably charge you $80 for something you can easily do yourself for $20 in parts.

Re: Spark Plugs and such

Plugs will run you between $10 to $30 for all 4 plugs and is a very simple task to perform with basic hand tools. Cheap copper plugs will need to be gapped where the more expensive platinum and iridium plugs come pre-gapped. Performance is about the same unless you're running something exotic. The more expensive plugs will however last longer.

Search the forum for a "how to" write up.

Re: Spark Plugs and such

As soon as you can, the earlier the better. o2 sensors are a little pricey but very easy to do. Best way to save money is doing it yourself honestly the best way to save money and it's a learning experience. The only thing you need to be careful with is when putting the spark plugs in to make sure you are putting them straight in and not angled because you can damage the thread. The fuel filter is not to bad to replace either but a lot harder to do compared to spark plugs.

Yes those are the ones. You need 4. Use the coupon code "A124" and get $10 off. Do in-store pick-up to save on shipping. Just order them before you head out to the store and pick them up.
