P1361 Code

Was driving yesterday and all of a sudden the engine dies out at a stop sign. Restarted the car and it starts fine for 15 sec, then the car starts to sputter, I shut off the car. Try starting again and it willl crank but not start. Waited 5 min and it started again just fine, then starts sputtering again. Had the car towed home and check the engine light, it gave me a code, p1361.
Any thoughts on what it can be?

Thanks

Re: P1361 Code

Check the wiring to the icm, usually this code is thrown when the 3x signal isn't making it to the pcm.

Re: P1361 Code

This is what i got from my dtc code database:
1st Sensor or solenoid faulty.
2nd Connector terminal contact is damaged or corroded.
3rd Wire harness - Check harness for correct voltage, open, short to ground or short to voltage.
4th Update control unit software - Check for the latest control unit update.

Here's a link to a repair manual. Download it. Study it. Your homework assignment is to read the troubleshooting section. There's a quiz when you return.

Search feature here at pz will gain you enormous amounts of information. Sometimes you have to be creative in your choice of phrases or use single words like obd1 or p1361.
