cabin air filter replace TUTORIAL?

Has anyone posted a tutorial on how to replace the cabin air filter in a 99-01 prelude? If not, has anyone done it? Any info on how to do it? I've heard that you need to cut a piece of plastic out of the way to access the filters. I plan on doin it this month! Any help is appreciated!

Re: CABIN AIR FILTER replace TUTORIAL?

There's a writeup either on here or preludepower.

simple to do really, i didn't even use the writeup.

remove the glovebox, and the bottom bracket.

break off the long plastic piece in front of the cabin filter box

remove clip on filter box

remove filters one at a time

install new filters, re-install clip on box, re-install glovebox.

Only 1999-2001 Preludes came factory with cabin air filters. (2) of them located in the airbox behind the glovebox. 97-98 'ludes do not have this same box.

I don't care how you act around your friends in person, but when replying to someone on these boards that clearly knows hell of a lot more than you - show some respect and try to use complete words vs that cluster**** of a sentence. I would like to think I know what i'm talking about if I wasted the time to even post a response and have actually changed the filters on my own.

Break or cut it, either way the part needs to be removed in order to access the filter housing. Removing that piece is basically proof that the filters have been removed and changed at some point in the car's history. There is no way around accessing the area without doing so and it's unknown as to why Honda designed it to be that way. And there is no need to replace said piece once it has been broken/removed. It is useless.

No wonder I didn't see one in my 97.
Thanx wing.
