Any good sites? PURCHASING PARTS ONLINE???
Anyone know of a good site i can purchase some parts from?
I need to get 2 front outer tie rods, front driver side wheel bearing, rear passenger side wheel bearing (and hub). Dealership quoted me $621 for everything after taxes. This is for a 2001 honda prelude base model. |

Re: Any good sites? PURCHASING PARTS ONLINE???
if you go to an auto parts store like oreillys or advanced auto, you could get moog tie rod ends for about 45 bucks each, the wheel bearings are about 30 bucks a piece, and the wheel bearings with the hub assembly are about 50-60 bucks. tie rod ends are easy to do yourself, if you do the wheel bearings you have to pull the whole steering knuckle off, and might as well do lower ball joints while everything is apart.
edit: you can also find decent parts on amazon.com. that is where i got my ball joints and they were beck arneley ball joints, which is a decent brand. |

Check out Rock Auto, just picked up Moog front and rear end links for a 2000 Base for bit over $100 delivered in 5 days over holiday weekend. Good selection and prices.

I would try your local parts store then compare prices with ebay as long as it's a reputable brand and the part # matches you should be good to go.

Personally Rock Auto is a good site.(just got an upper control arm)But I would get the raybestos tie rods over moog.I heard moog quality has gone down over the years.

Re: Any good sites? PURCHASING PARTS ONLINE???
If you want OEM Honda give Majestic Honda a look at!
If you want a simple replacement OEM style part then go to Advanced Auto or Autozone, O'reillys check prices with all of these and buy for who ever is cheapest with the best warranty. Just and FYI but they all carry the same stuff they just box it in different packages. All their house brands come from the same manufacturer as far as hard parts go. Would also recommend Amazon that we were you find the good stuff at prices that not even Ebay can match. ![]()

Re: Any good sites? PURCHASING PARTS ONLINE???
eBay is okay as long as you're careful and not naive. If it seems too cheap, it's probably a rip off or really bad quality. Use a site like BKHondaParts.com for reference on OEM parts and subtract about $60-$100 from the price (depends on what), that should get you a ball park price on what you will most likely pay.
