Best color to match EBP?

Im going to be painting my spark plug cover and my intake and I'm trying to pick a blue that matches Electron pearl blue the best. Yes I've tried paintscratch.com but 36 bucks for just the base paint in spray can form is too much for me especially if I mess up and have to redo it.

I've found two paints so far pretty close to EBP.

Dupli-Color MetalCast Blue Anodized.
Here's a link showing how it looks go further down and it shows the final product on a intake.
DIY: Paint your Cold Air or Short Ram Intake! - AcuraZine Community

Dupli-Color Metal specks Ocean Blue
Here's a link showing the final product on some motorcycle parts
Dupli-Color Metal Specks paint - Pocket Bike Forum - Mini Bikes

Have any of you guys used those two before? Or know of any other better spray paints that match better with EBP
Thanks

Re: Best color to match EBP?

Just order it from paintscratch. Get the clearcoat from your local hardware store.

The paintscratch can WILL come in handy. Say you relocate your battery - you're stuck with an unpainted area in the engine bay, well the can just paid for itself!

I've painted everything from radiator stays to parts of my engine bay and misc interior parts.

Go to your local automotive paint store. they can mix you a rattle can of whatever type paint you want (i.e. high temp, flex additive, etc), in whatever color (Honda B95P in your case (i think)), usually around $15-20. Then just get a can of dupli-color clearcoat.

Why not just get it powder coated? Will look 100x better and last.

sparkplug covers are plastic, powdercoating requires to be heated in an oven - maybe someone else can confirm, but isn't that too much heat?

Half of my engine bay is done with rustoleum clear from my local hardware store, no blistering.

The bay doesn't get quite as hot as the valve cover. And no you can't powder coat plastic. To powder coat you give the part a positive electrical charge and than you give the powder a negative charge, in turn the powder sticks to the part (you can get plastic zink plated and than powder coated or chromed but its not cheap)

The sparkplug cover doesn't get hot enough either. I have one sitting here that was painted and cleared with your typical rattle can paint - not a single chip or blister. Spent quite a few miles/years on the motor.

Same here. I painted mine 5 years ago with krylon color and clear and it still looks great. If I had it to do all over again I would sped the extra money and get some catalyzed automotive paint mixed up into a rattle can at your local paint store.

Re: Best color to match EBP?

My buddy has a friend that works at napa auto, he mixed me up three cans of epb for about 40 bucks. Not sure if you could get the same price but worth a try.

Re: Best color to match EBP?
