Suspension Help Please?!

I've been having a rubbing problem with my tires. My dad told me when he gave me the car that it's cuhz the rims (IS300) have a much different offset which are making it rub. So I traded wheels with my friend and he also has a 5th gen lude. After dropping both cars back down, my rims on his car were tucked under his car a bit and mine we still right under the fender so it was still lined up with the outer fender. We checked my suspension after and it was sticking out more than his and his suspension is all stock except for his Forum Function coils and I'm pretty sure mine is stock other than being lowered on Groung Control KYB shocks Eibach springs. Any idea what's making my wheels stick out more?! Help ):

That won't affect the wheel fitment. Go back to lurking and don't post until you've actually got factual information to share.

Mind taking a photo of your wheel well with the wheel removed?

The issue is that he put (the assumption) stock wheels on, he should not need to roll fenders with stock wheels. There's either missing information, or something else is going on here.

It's the wheels.... looks like there's not enough offset and too wide.

Re: Suspension Help Please?!

Go on craiglist or go on socalprelude and look for some shop that roles fenders. It's around $25 per fender. Even if you have high spring rating a big dip or pothole will drive the wheel into your fender and you don't want that. I'm getting my fenders rolled one of these days alright hit my rear inner fender "lip" a little

Re: Suspension Help Please?!

I was hoping I wouldn't need to roll my fenders ): Could it possibly just be my tires? Cuhz they're 225-45 on my lexus rims which are 17x7 +50

Re: Suspension Help Please?!

You could get smaller tires, but that will probably cost more than the $75-$100 that it would cost to get your fenders rolled. Why don't you want to roll your fenders?

Re: Suspension Help Please?!

You rub on the wheel well arches? If that's where, it's possible he doesn't rub due to the increased camber that occurs when you lower the car more....

Re: Suspension Help Please?!

Wing, yeaa I'm pretty sure that's where I rub cuhz after I take her out for a drive, the outer part of my tires are kinda shiny like it was being rubbed against.

1BadBB6 I'm just kinda scared it won't turn out nice and it might get messed up ya know?

Re: Suspension Help Please?!

What size tires are currently on there? They look to be in decent shape and would almost be a waste to get new ones at this point....

So just to get it in one post; What are the wheel and tire specs?

My last set of wheels were a 45 offset. Being lowered - I JUST cleared the arch in the wheel well. IMO - 50 is too much and requires a stretched tire and rolled fenders / or more camber/ or even raise the car up :/

Re: Suspension Help Please?!

One looks like it's sticking out quite a bit. The wheels are a bit big for your fenders so you could either drop it more and see if camber will help or roll fenders. You could also raise the car a bit too if you don't want to be scraping all the time.

Re: Suspension Help Please?!

Wing, my rims are 17x7 +50 with 225-45-r17 tires. What offset do you recommend if I go 17s?

Alex, that's what I thought too. Well that's what it looks like.

A legit concern….Just make sure when you're looking at places to have it done you look at reviews. Maybe some of the CA Luders around here can help you out with reputable fender rollers….
