Headlight questions 5th gen

I have a question about my headlights.
I am cleaning my prelude and i looked at the headlights and they are really hazy and yellow. It makes me sad because it looks tacky. I am trying to clean them or polish them but I do not know the best way to do so. I am contemplating on getting new headlights (like halo, or angel eyes) but i do not know much on what to get and what to do both regarding polishing headlights and installing new ones. Please leave your advice, it helps out as much as possible!

Re: Headlight questions 5th gen

There's special headlight restoration kits and fluids that you can buy for about $20 that work really well. You could get a new set, but that's more of an expensive investment.

You would also need an HID kit for aftermarket headlights if you want them to look decent and there are not a lot of choices for Aftermarket headlights.

Try polishing them with headlight polish a few times and see how that goes. If it's too yellow or faded still then I guess you should buy a new set.

Must learn to use search button, before learning to restore headlights.

Re: Headlight questions 5th gen

Fix your headlights….Don't go with ones from ebay. If you really want some angel eye headlights or something, buy it from somewhere like k2motor.com or CarID.com

That's an odd tip, I must say, but if it works, certainly go with it. Next time, please use punctuation…it makes it much easier to read.

Re: Headlight questions 5th gen

I got a set of DEPO black housing reflector lights from eBay, and they work wonderfully and add a touch of aggression to the front end. Then again, my OEM lights were not only hazed over but they both had broken tabs and were barely held in.

Re: Headlight questions 5th gen

And don't rub avocado on them either. There's a YouTube video of MightyCarMods trying a bunch of stuff to clean the headlights like Avocado, piss, toothpaste, and actual headlight polish. Nothing works except the polish.

I'm going to buy a buffout and polish kit this weekend, so hopefully thatll work. Also which is better in your guy's opinion? halo's or angel eyes.. I dont know much about either

Depends on the color of the car and your bumper style (Lip kit or stock or aftermarket)

Re: Headlight questions 5th gen

Get the mothers headlight restoration kit. It works wonders. And if you do decide to get new lights, go Depo!

Black cars look okay with halos, but you'll need an HID kit for them to look decent. Angels look nice too, but they look better on lighter colors. You should consider retrofits as well, I've never had them myself, but a couple people on the site do them for like $400 and they look pretty nice.

Google some black 5th gens with different headlights and see what you like best, that's what I usually do.
