So I found this interesting piece on Craigslist Today

97 honda prelude

That's the link to something I'm confused about. It's a 1997 Prelude, on 2G Mitsubishi Eclipse wheels, and it's rocking an F series ()

So I'm confused. Why would someone swap an F into a BB6? They never came like that in the States, only in Europe so far as I know. Plus, I don't know if it's an Auto or Manual. If it's manual, that's strange. If it's an automatic, could they have kept the sportshift?

But who in their right mind would swap an F into it, unless they were building to boost it? I mean, it's probably an F23 from the 98-02 Accord, but it's still horrible to be in a BB6!

Maybe that was the only available motor for them to get at the time (if it needed a new one)

^ yep, probably just an engine that was lying around and would fit, honestly.

That engine is a D series, SOHC. It would be like 1.4 to 1.6 litre.
I dont know who in their right mind would do that to a Prelude.

That is NOT a D series. Take a look at the F22/F23 under the hood of any mid-to-late 90's Accord, It looks just like that. Why you think that's a D series, I don't know.

The owner told me that the previous owner said it was from Zerolift (a well known tuning shop around Cincinnati, OH) but didn't disclose any other information about it. It is a manual though, so no hard feelings of another Prelude with their infamous automatics.

Looking at that motor in the bb6 chassi is almost as worse as looking at 2 girls and 1 cup.

Re: So I found this interesting piece on Craigslist Today

I dont know why you guys are so worried its an F series....F series are more durable engines than H series. Sure you dont get the amount of power but say someone drives 75+ miles a day....I'd rather have the reliability and gas mileage of the F. And this is someone who has dealt extensively with F22, F23, H22, and H23 (both VTEC and non)

Thats why you go buy an accord with a F series engine not swap it into a Prelude lol. But like the other guys said they most likely had the engine and car laying around and just dropped it into there to make a quick sell. I feel bad for the person who buys it not knowing thats not the orginal engine, But then someone that stupid not doing their research shouldn't be buying a car.
