Icon8 Koni/Ground Control Issues

Alright guys I really need your help on an issue I'm having with my Koni and Ground Control setup. When I installed everything I left the dust boot in the front and in the rear but it appeared to scrap the driver side GC sleeve. So what I did was take out the metal dust boot/cover on the front and on the rear. I installed the struts in the following order from top to bottom: plastic washer on top of the strut housing, Energy Suspension bump stop, metal washer, Energy suspension bushing with the metal cylindrical tube inside the bushing followed with another bushing on top and then a metal washer above that (basically lower part of top hat has a bushing then on the top another bushing with metal tube in the middle of both and then followed a washer) and then two thin nuts on the thread. Is this how all of you guys and girls with the Koni/Ground Control setup did it? Really need some feedback. Need to align my car so I can drive it ASAP since it's my daily driver.

Re: Koni/Ground Control Issues

However it looked in the picture that the struts came with is how I did mine. Pretty sure it was the same setup as the stock was iirc

Yea, thats how I have mine.

I was actually thinking about taking the metal sleeve off and replacing it with a bellow boot.

Yeah I saw the instructions but its not as descriptive and detailed as I would like. So you used the metal dust cover and didn't modify it at all? Also whats your spring rating because if I`m correct 400 lbs spring ratings are wider or lengthier I believe.

So you didn't modify the dust boot and used it? I didn't use the metal dust boot in the front nor in the the rear would their be any problem with that? I just put the metal washer that would have gone under the metal dust boot and that's it.

Re: Koni/Ground Control Issues

OHHHHH lol I see now, no I did not use the factory metal dust boot. But you would be right to cut a few inches (however many you plan to drop) off of the covers.

Alright sounds good then. I'll leave the metal dust boot off. appreciate the help I've been getting a headache from trying to fix the issue. Let me know if you guys have any tips BEFORE I get my car aligned tomorrow :)

And to all those that saw my post and had an answer to my issue and didn't reply haha

Re: Koni/Ground Control Issues

For those of you who are looking to an adjustable set up GC/Koni work great they dampen really well from what I have felt so far. Just need them to settle in so for all of you have this setup already it would be nice if you can chime in on how to set it up.

How long has it been since you did that and how does it ride? This is what I've been looking for. Now I can align my car after I decide how low I'm going to go. All I wanted was peace of mind
