Rear Alignement Issue

Hey guys,

So I have a weird alignment issue. My rear driver side toe and camber are off pretty badly. See pic.

My question is this a knuckle (ball joint) issue, or just a toe bar just need adjusting issue. Also the right rear tires wears on the inside which is weird cause this side doesn't have the issue.

The place i took it too said that the camber is so far off that a camber kit won't correct it fully. The toe bar isn't bent or anything.

Thanks for any help appreciated.

Re: Rear Alignement Issue

You may want to double check that toe arm. As well as the crossmember, were you ever hit?

At that time, also check your balljoints and wheel bearing if you want a little ease of mind.

I assume you're lowered about an inch and a half? Not enough negative camber in the rear to worry about it. But do expect to have more wear on the insides of the wheels due to being lowered in general.

I'd suggest going to a different shop for your alignments. If you were to get a rear camber kit - that WOULD resolve that camber issue. I would never recommend a camber kit for the front though, JUST the REAR. (front kits will damage your front shock towers)

Re: Rear Alignement Issue

Something is definitely bent or worn out on that side man, the fact that the camber is positive is the reason the toe is out like crazy. The reason your RR tire wore out is because it is fighting against the other rear wheel that is out of adjustment. If they were smarter, they should have brought the right rear tire out of spec to get the total toe in spec so you don't kill the rear tires as fast. Get the left rear side checked out asap before you destroy those tires, and so they can fix that alignment.

Re: Rear Alignement Issue

Hey sorry it took me a while to respond. Finals are officially over.

In any case the mechanic told me that the left rear control arm needs replacing along with the knuckle and the toe adjustment bar...

Could all those things go bad on one side?

The car isn't lowered (only a few months old in my hands, but it looks stock) no previous accident that I can tell.

Thanks for all the feedback

Re: Rear Alignement Issue

It had to have been hit on that side then. If it was lowered the camber would be negative not positive, in which in your case yours is overly positive which leads me to believe the mechanic is right.
