Day after XMAS lowering my 5th Gen

On the 26th Ill be ordering some new parts
I have 18's with 225/40/18s.
For lowering springs i would either go with:
D2 with a 2.25" drop
KSport for a 2" drop
Megan Racing for a 1.75" drop

And I am not trying to break the bank on Struts but I would like to get new ones.

Ideally I would like to drop it as much as possible. This is a daily driver but most of my driving is in a straight line.

Would I get a **** ton of wheel rub when turning and/or on the wheel wells?

All input is heard.

Re: Day after XMAS lowering my 5th Gen

as far as wheel clearance goes you should be fine. my lude has 1.5" in the back and 2" in the front and my wheels only rub the fenders if i hit a big bump going too fast (only done it once) only thing you have to worry about is your wheel well will probably be torn apart if your suspension isn't hard enough. guy before me lowered it and it doesn't even have wheel wells. but i have ebay adjustable height lowering springs over stock struts, so it isn't hard at all. now i just worry about the wire harness that is right above the wheel because i can tell it has been rubbed on, wrapped thickly in gorilla tape to protect and havent had any rubbing issues on anything.

Re: Day after XMAS lowering my 5th Gen

my car has skunk2 lowering springs kyb agx's and i think the skunk2's lower about 2.25 in front and 2 in rear with -2 camber. no rubs what so ever and i drive on curvy back roads allday you should be good . i bought the car with -4 camber in the front and the only thing that i can see with that is that my abs wires are totally tore up throwin codes just look out for your abs

atleast these coilovers arent the best what you can get with that kind of money...

and btw, you will rub with 18s and 40 profile tires with that kind of lowering. Im lowered something like ~1,5" and my tire profile is 35 with 18s

Koni adjustable struts and ground control adjustable springs. They let you choose your own spring rating plus I believe your able to adjust em o.5 from stock hieght up to 3inch.

Yo please find me a set of used coil overs for 210-300. Ill give you commission too.
I had the "ground control" coil overs on my old accord. Simply hated them. Ideally I would love to get coil overs but I'm not heavily modding this car. I am however saving for coils for my old 911.

But with that said. If I drop it 2.25 and the wheel rubs the fender, I roll the fenders. If the wheel hits the wheel well, I take it out before it rips out. And I get my alignment set to -2 in the front and 0 in the rear and call it a day without the camber kit.

I was looking at struts but I am trying to keep the price down at this point. Will Monroe or KYB or any of those standard struts sufficient or are they stock specs? Legit input please.

I bought everything on ebay. Let me find the sellers but it basically came down to a lot cheaper than most aftermarket parts suppliers and cheaper than the manufacturer website.

If your gonna be slammed or really dropped you don't want a soft suspension you want higher spring ratings for sure

Id go for (those) full coilovers. I dont trust in any of those height adjustable springs! with coilovers you'll know that with them everything works together because theyre made in that way

Re: Day after XMAS lowering my 5th Gen

Honestly have no idea unless you tell me the height right now. My lude was dropped as far as you can go without rubbing the wheels and every little bump I could hear the wheels rubbing.

If you're into really low cars then camber will help get more clearance and rolling fenders helps too, but be very ****ing careful because you don't want to replace your fenders if you roll them wrong.

Camber will chew your tires and you risk looking like an asshole, but if that's what you like then go for it.

I don't like having my car too high, but having it too low is just as pointless when you have to avoid every rock on the road.

Camber will wear out tires but it won't "eat them" like toe will.

There is many full coil-overs out there but not all will give you a custom spring rating for your setup and some might be to soft for your liking and if your lowered you will be rubbing a lot.

now a days almost every ("full") coilover company offers custom spring rates

and you cannot even build coilovers to be THAT soft...
