Hissing noise from intake

My car has recently started making a hissing noise from the intake, I have a CAI what would be the cause of this?

Re: Hissing noise from intake

Coming from the filter area? If so, would just be air being sucked through the filter. If it's coming from the tube, did the breather hose become detached from the intake (running from valve cover to intake)? Or possibly a tear in the boot attaching the intake to the throttle body?

EDIT: Or if it is a true CAI, did you have to modify the opening into the fender well (ie: enlarge the hole)? The intake could have rubbed against the cut metal and over time created a slice through the intake, allowing air to enter after the filter (would create a hissing sound as well).

Re: Hissing noise from intake

After warming up car they are at 400 rpms and they are kind of weird, they move around but nothing drastic, also, im hearing two different clicking noises, one between the exhaust manifold and valve cover, and the other by the cruise control module, but that one sounds electrical

I have an AEM CAI, and over the years it has rubbed a nice gash into the tube (metal). It is not all the way through (yet), but you can see where the metal has been worn thin on the inside.

Re: Hissing noise from intake

Take a piece of vaccum line and cut it down the side from end to end and then slide it over the edges of where the cut out is to go into the inner fender. won't rub anymore
