Mugen/Mugen replica rear lips

I'm just wondering about these rear lips. I know they have a bunch of different names like "Rear Lips", "Rear Bumper Componets", and "Rear Aprons" and they also come from different brands like Mugen and Duraflex.

Here's an ebay link to what I'm talking about
Honda Prelude 1997-2001 BB6 BB8 model Mugen MG Style rear bumper side skirts | eBay

A few questions I have:

Has anyone here ever bought them?

How do you install?

Where did you get them?

The're hollow, so does dirt build up?

Pictures of your car with them on?

Thanks.

Here's a set of authentic Mugen valences.

Sorry I don't have them mounted yet but check out prelude1897 and I think ebppreludesh.

Thanks. Does anyone show or talk about mounting them? I assume they mount just on the sides of the stock bumper with bolts, but I'm not too sure.

I don't know about that. Did you see Chris's car? Problem with molding them too is that doing it with the real ones means the value goes down if ever trying to sell them again. The molded ones do look great but it's my dilemma I guess!

Re: Mugen/Mugen replica rear lips

I have some on mine. They go right over the stock rear lip. I had to drill a few holes to make sure they stayed on properly.

Do they fit well or did you have to shape with a heat gun?

Mine are VIS reps I believe. They are fiberglass... fit real well, did not need a heat gun.

Re: Mugen/Mugen replica rear lips

Yeah I know, lucky for me there's a guy in my town (of 4000 people) that has 4 Preludes and he's selling his 2001 Base. I'd rather the shop just total my lude and give me the $4000 or so that they priced it at so I can buy one that's not totally hopeless.

I don't know about worship but I really like the way the complete Mugen kit fits the BB6. Ad to that trying to find an authentic Mugen kit and it's damn near impossible. I have been sourcing my kit for 2 years plus.

Whats the big deal with Mugen though? To me it's just another brand, I buy clothes that look nice to me, don't really care if they're Nikes or DC or whatever...

Mugen parts for Honda have always been top notch quality and they are probably the most respected aftermarket manufacturer right in line with Spoon. They spend tons of money on R&D and make sure that fitment is just like OEM. Then the cheaper versions you get are made by companies that steal those designs. It's not even close to be honest..
