Re: Will this muffler will fit my stock exhaust?
It will need to be welded. Not a direct fit.

Re: Will this muffler will fit my stock exhaust?
you shouldnt need extra piping lol
I bought a Megan racing muffler and all that had to be done was making an adjustment for the different widths of the piping and make sure its not touching the lip kit or anything lol (if u have one) how much is the one ur getting from ebay?

Re: Will this muffler will fit my stock exhaust?
alright thanks markmasahirochang, and haha dude I'm a little worried as to why this thing is so cheap, most of the mufflers like this one are alot more expensive. I was also looking at twin loop mufflers any suggestions?

Re: Will this muffler will fit my stock exhaust?
Don't buy it. That's nasty. Get a twin loop.

Re: Will this muffler will fit my stock exhaust?
haha ok I won't buy that muffler, and what inlet diameter would fit best and be easiest to weld on , like 2.5' inlet?

Re: Will this muffler will fit my stock exhaust?
Stock exhaust is around 2" i believe. (been awhile)
Most aftermarket exhausts range from 2.3" to 2.5" (pre-made cat-back systems) When in search for a muffler, you want a stainless steel muffler so it lasts longer - issue with that is the stock piping is not stainless steel. Thus it makes welding the two together a real challenge/sometimes near impossible due to the weaker metal of the two (stock pipe) not holding up. I agree with itsdatoneguy in saving up for a cat-back system. It's actually MUCH cheaper to purchase pre-bent stainless steel pipe kit from a company such as k-teller, a resonator of your choice (I prefer Vibrant) and your muffler of choice. I spent over $600 on my Greddy exhaust, But spent less than $300 when I made the exhaust myself using the pre-bent kit and piecing the rest together. Just remember, you want to keep all the components the same type of metal to make it easier to weld. |

Re: Will this muffler will fit my stock exhaust?
I had one of those on my very first Prelude, and that was 12 years ago :p

Re: Will this muffler will fit my stock exhaust?
I'm assuming you just want something that's just loud to wake up the neighbors? If that's the case, should also upgrade on the piping and just have 2.5" piping from the cat back and eliminate the resinator

Re: Will this muffler will fit my stock exhaust?
gonna need a pipe bender for sure, so if you have access to one, that's good. Other than that, just cut the pipe by the car unless if you get a flange to mate up with the stock cat, then just run your pipe just like the stock one is and bend where it's needed. If you don't wanna go through the whole trouble, just simply go to a muffler shop.
