need help

im trying to decide if i want to keep my h22a or try and fit a k20a in my prelude, i just got my prelude and i still dont know much about them, just lookin for some input and help

There isn't anything wrong with it, I just wanna build it to maximize speed and I heard k series was superior, but I'm just getting into the whole car scene so I don't know much yet, so I'm just getting more information so I can decide and actually have facts ha

If you don't know much, stick with the H22 for now. It's a great motor. Welcome to the site…post some pictures ASAP.

People that don't know what they're talking about say the K series is a superior motor.

Research a reverse H22. Not as complicated as putting a K series in, unique, and similar benefits.

I can say that I'm not the slightest bit disappointed in my H22. What benefit are you expecting to get from the K20 and at what cost? Compare achieving the same results in the H22 and you have your answer.

well you can get over 270hp out of k20 even without chaging cams...try to do that with h22. and basic bolt ons (IHE) gives you 230hp, when with h22 you have to build almost whole engine over again to get the same

i have heard from many people that the k20 was more expensive but at the same time can be built to generate way more power, so im just trying to get more info before i buy a k20 and make a mistake ha, im not only just starting to learn about preludes but engines in general, so if i sound dumb, i apologize, and i also heard that a turboed h22 is pointless.. something about after 220 horsepower the turbo becomes usless, and is it possible to supercharge an h22 or k20a? and how do i post pictures for you all to see my baby?:)

^ putting K into prelude isnt easy job. you need to customize some stuff so its a job for experienced people. and IMO if you have to ask about that, you dont know how to do it - dont do it

K20A type r engine would be nice to build though

nope, turboed SH is pointless.

you have SH so you have ATTS. atts stops working around 240 hp and you cannot get good tune for SH because you cannot change the ecu. ecu controls atts and youll lose the atts if you change ecu to one which you can tune (or theres too much power that atts cant handle). so base version would be much MUCH easier to build, because you can get chipped ecu there

when atts shuts down, its just dead weight

yes very possible. just need to get a custom plate made to attach a halfshaft in place of the ATTS unit. specs on the plate can be found online. get a base transmission or an LSD transmission. im pretty sure just a driver side axle off a base model lude since you cant use the SH driverside axle anymore. thats just for drivetrain. h22s can take about 6-7 psi before problems happen so you should upgrade the internals for boost
