Steel Pipes

Since 90% of the links in the '5th Gen Parts Guide' thread are broken, I figured I'd make a new thread regarding steel pipes. Namely the ones that channel exhaust gasses.

I'm in the market for a header and cat back system (I'll be installing a locally manufactured test pipe) and I don't fancy spending $400+ on each piece. With that said, I've frequented Fleabay and Amazon and found pipes of both header, and cat back flavors for $99-200. Does anyone have any experience with the quality, or lack thereof, of these inexpensive carbon carriers?

I'm expecting copious amounts of replies with the disposition of 'you get what you pay for', but in all reality, a steel pipe is a steel pipe, right?

Quality of the steel, thickness, TYPE of steel, etc...

Than there's all the factors of the welds, flanges, hardware, hangers, flex pipes, cats.....

You get what you pay for
