brake light on

1998 base. my brake light is on when the prelude is parked at a light and stays on until i shift into 2nd, does anyone no what's up? happy thanksgiving and thanks to those who reply

Check your fluid level first.

Its a common problem with 5th gen Preludes. Theres a sticky about it. Mine usually only acts up when its cold out but I live in Houston so thats kinda rare.

Check your brake fluid level and it would be a good idea to change the fluid and bleed the brakes to clear out all the old fluid and debris.

Brake fluid contracts with colder weather and along with brake pad wear, the fluid level may have dropped a bit too low. Hence the intermittent brake light.

Whenever it gets cooler outside 70 and below my brake light stays on and never turns off. Above 70 it turns off just fine. Check your fluid mines not at the max level kinda inbetween the min and max lines.
